Excellent fishing on the Yellowstone yesterday. Beatiful weather for a float trip. We floated Bratten to Twin, near Reed Point. Nymph fishing was very productive most of the day. Paula took this nice brown on a prince nymph in the morning. Late in the afternoon, the wind changed to the east and fishing started to taper off on the nymph. There were a few March Brown spinners around, so we tried a parachute. Caught several fish on the dry. There were heads here and there, but no real hatch or spinner fall. The big winners were prince nymphs, hare’s ear and either olive or brown parachutes. We did get a few bumps on a yuk bug stripped slow, but didn’t stay with it very long. The nymph fishing was too good.
